Its been a while ...

Hello my friends ... heck i've been away a while, i didn't realise!! ive been feeling a bit out of sorts the past couple of weeks, house repairs that need doing, the weather, this and that .. you know the things... i have also have been naughty with money and had quite a few days of getting a treat to take to work, a chocolate bar here and there..which means unnecessarily spending and my waistline expanding more!!
Drat, anyhow i've put a stop to that again and feel a bit more on track now...i have been keeping on top of the savings however and have managed to save  £600 since January which i am really happy about, i've had some ebay sales too, so it all helps.

Firstly sorry again for picture quality, I had to blog from my phone today as the laptop was having a paddy, maybe the weather? not sure.. and i've lost the camera while we have been decorating..woops.. its a foggy morning today in Lancashire, and cold brrrr...glad i got all the washing done the last couple of days..

So our very large hallway was in desperate need of redecorating, it had a chip paper on the top half and a blown vinyl on the bottom, the paper was coming away at the top half and after taking a look and removing the paper it was in a terrible state, its took me two days to remove one wall, the worst wall at the top of the stairs...blimey... i was wondering why i had started?? i redecorated my sons bedroom painted the walls grey and put a feature wallpaper window side and at the opposite of the room behind his bed... he chose his wallpaper and all in all we spent £145.98 on a complete makeover ...

Wallpaper £14.00
Grey Paint £15.00
Light Shade £3.99
Carpet £27.00
New Bed £49.99
Fablon £10.00
Blind £16.00
New Sheets £10.00
We had Filler and was given wood paint :)
= £145.98
London Scene Wallpaper

DS is 11 years old and wanted a more grown up room that was black and grey, we couldn't afford new furniture so i covered his beech coloured wardrobe and drawers with a black gloss fablon, and my gosh it looked fab!! hahah DS thought we had bought new at first, we did buy a new bed as his old one was old and it was a mid sleeper so getting a proper bed was great, especially for my back when changing sheets, my days of climbing cabin beds are over!! our terraced house has two small ish bedrooms and so it needed planning thoroughly... eventually we got it looking right and he is thrilled with it, so this prompted the hallway makeover as the new bedroom made the hall look even more shabby!!!  and not in a trendy way haha...

Just look at the state of this wall, all these gouges were covered in a green felt like stuff its took some blinking scraping off, i still haven't quite finished, the whole wall needs filling now too. Due to how bad this wall has been we have decided to just magnolia the other walls as the paper looks ok, we are thinking of putting a feature paper on this wall to jazz it all up a bit...phew... cant wait to get it done now its getting to me as the bathroom is next then the spare room, when we had all that bad rain we had a leak in the spare room and that needs papering and painting too..my parents are visiting at the end of march so it has to be done...hells teeth..i need a break lol..

I think the other walls look ok ? .. clean and fresh at least, we had some crown magnolia emulsion left so i have used that, although i think we will need another tin, but so far not spent on anything for the hall, we will need just one roll of paper for the feature wall and our local B&M'S have wallpaper for £5 a roll so its not looking to bad..the struggle will be to find something we both like and that has brown/cream patten on as our carpet is brown!!!
Fingers crossed :)

And to finish off ......

Hmm look who is in Mummys bed ?? Mr Deeds... im cold mummy its all foggy and nasty out today so i sneaked in your comfy bed haha .. got to love him ..

Sorry for a long boring post my friends ... back soon ...

Feeling Happier

Afternoon bloggers..

So I went to Barclays this morning got the online banking issue sorted out, and have had a play around with that this morning, very happy with it, easy to use and I can now see exactly what's in there and what's coming out, happy so say that the rent had already come out and what I saw on the screen is what we had left, so knowing that I bought two lots of smart price yoghurts from Asda  66p for 8, and topped up the saving card to £10, I also added £10 into the weekly online savings, and bought two lots of toothpaste for £1.98, I found 56p in my coat pocket so have just popped that in the tin, and that's it now im not touching any more money in any account until next week..im feeling much happier now..

I know I am supposed to wait until the last day on January to count the tin money but it was looking good so thought I would count it up so far...grand total of £39.34 so far saved, really happy with that, I will keep adding when I have change left over in the next 11 days.

I had a till receipt that I kept on forgetting about for Boots, so I bobbed in to add the points onto my card, its up to £7.38 to spend in store so I shall hang onto that encase I see something to put in the Christmas bottom drawer.. :) I don't really use Boots, only for printing our digital photos off so that's how I get so save the points..its far to expensive for everything else!!

When we nipped in Tesco at the weekend I needed to get some toothpaste as ive been using up every little squeeze in the tubes that have been put back into the landing cupboard!!! why do we do that ? anyway so I had a look, and didn't buy any, Colgate Total was £2.99 a tube heck what a price to pay.. I looked down town as I know our local 99p shop do Colgate, yep I came away with the exact same toothpaste I saw in Tesco for £2.99 a tube and I paid £1.98 for two packs..great..that will last us a good while yet...and a good few pennies left in the pocket :)

Its been a bright and sunny day so far this morning, off to work soon so Mr Deeds didn't get his walk today, I shall have to make up for it tomorrow with a extra long muddy one..hehe..he likes those the best, mummy doesn't though!! I hope everyone is having a great Monday.Right-e-oh im off to grab a coffee before work.

Tata for now

Happy New Year *cough cough*

Happy New Year Cyber Space :) after all i do like to talk to myself haha .. So as usual ive been very busy since i last posted, no i don't really do new year resolutions but i am going to try and be more organised, more timely etc..

I wanted to spend as little as possible in January , all good intentions eh? but i had a look an Approved Foods last night and they has quiet a bit of vegetarian foods stuff that i could stock up on, so i spent £30 including delivery on plenty of cupboardy bit's that will last us a good while, ive also spend another £30 ish pounds on this months UHT Milk and other grocery bits, i want to run the freezer down so am planning to really try and do that without buying much else for a long while, the odd veg from Aldis 39p range and i will look out for yellow sticker reduced fruit and veggies still.

So i started a 50p pot last year, late starter so only had £7.50 in it, but still went towards food.

-Ive started again and decided to do an 'Any Change Tin', already have £3 in that so a good start :)

-My Ebay pot is empty so i need to start selling again and i will do my best to keep that money online and i will transfer it into the end of year savings in December.

-We are into week 2 of the year and i have put aside £10 per week so there is £20 in that saved so far.

Not a bad start to the year..its been cold up North i must say, blooming freezing at work too, silly little wall heater doesn't blast out much heat at all.. ive had two scarves on its been that chilly!!..got to charge my mobile up though so that saved me a penny or two..hehe

Made a chuck it all together and use it up soup in the slow cooker yesterday, bit of double cream, pumpkin, 2 bendy carrots, a sprouting onion, 2 large reduced leeks, 2 potatoes from the sack, pint of vegetable value stock, s+p wizzed it together this morning..OH loves it..im not so keen ..prefer just a plain tomato soup me ..

Anyway easy tea tonight, beans and or egg on toast and home-made pancakes for afters, pot of tea, hot bath and off to bed for me tonight, i need to warm up..and it saves putting the heating on lol

Bye for now AFM xx

A Need Or A Want?

Heck i think i spoke to soon ..Well that's gone and done it now..our laptop started bleeping and wouldn't turn on! we have a computer repair shop on our street so i bobbed in this morning so see if Ali could tell me what it was all about, yep the processor has gone, he said it would be £70 to repair and wouldn't recommend it being done as usually they only last 3 months before it happens again...the problem i have is there is allot of stuff stored on said laptop and it needs removing?? bobbed back and he said he would transfer all data to a memory stick for me for just £10..so i think i will get that done and worry about another laptop in the near future, as i don't necessarily need it straight away i just want to blog, read, eBay etc....oh what to do?? my son has a laptop so i will be borrowing his if i can prise it away from him for 10 mins here and there lol i do have internet access at work so i can pop on now and then so its not the end of the world..yet .. ha .. remember the lovely replacement cooker  had delivered? yep, still doesn't work right so back to the shop i go again this morning, i really do need to get this problem sorted- its all money this month, lets hope from tomorow being the 1st of November that i can get back to saving and frugling away, no spend on groceries this week, i will need milk and dog food at the weekend but that's it, found a 50p in my purse so that went into the 50p jar i have started..£20 goes into the retirement pot, now i only started these a matter of weeks ago, but already it is adding up £20 a week for a year is £1040 i am 34 so in another 26 years when i am 60 this will be about  £27.000 hopefully with interest a little more- a nice retirement fund.

Anyway friends back soon.
